It is easy to get caught up in single motherhood and put the needs of others before your own, but this can lead to burnout, resentment and overwhelm. This week, Michelle Dempsey-Multack invited Eykiena (Keena) Crowley to Moms Moving On to share her own experience with single motherhood and how she learned to put herself first when needed. Michelle and Keena will take a deep dive into:
- Co-parenting a child with special needs
- Shifting your perspective from “trying to survive” to “thriving”
- Learning to set boundaries with your ex’s extended family
- Realizing that you can still give your children an incredible life
- AND MUCH MORE

As a mother of a son with Autism and a divorcee, she is familiar with the mindset of a woman who wants more but doesn’t know how to get to it or doesn’t know what it even looks like. But one thing she is very aware of after her experiences of:
- Being molested at 13 years old
- Having a child at 14 years old
- Being homeless at 18 years old
- Joining the military and medically retiring due to injury
- Being a combat veteran (serving a combat tour to Iraq)
- Being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder
- Being in an abusive marriage, and going through a painful divorce
- Experiencing medical issues as a result of divorce
- Being diagnosed with a brain aneurysm
Is that there is a brighter life after divorce if one would be resilient and become exceptionally focused, you can have the life you desire and deserve.
She now concentrates on empowering women and her audience to get to and utilize their maximum potential to thrive in essence and live a blissful life after divorce. Eykiena exemplifies how a woman thrives and looks like after being broken. She believes if a woman can have a thriving mindset, make thriving commitments, and create thriving actions, it will conclusively result in Thriving After Divorce.
One of the greatest surprises, and one that was completely unexpected, was who I became in the process. Pain affects us. It makes us compassionate, considerate and more aware. I became all those things. I love who I am today, and you can love the person you become too. I can help you find your way on this journey. – Eykiena Crowley
